PROJECT PLAYGROUND^TM

The ethos behind Project Playground^TM is simple: look after your playground. This initiative, launched by us in 2006, exists to raise awareness of climate change amongst the snowboarding and outdoor sports communities.

Consumers and the outdoor sports industry are finally waking up to the fact that climate change and protecting the environment are serious issues. Project PlaygroundTM is our way of bringing everyone involved together and taking positive action to create change. We aim to build the Project PlaygroundTM initiative throughout 2008 and get more businesses and individuals involved in various campaigns designed to raise money for and take steps to tackle cimate change, from a snowboarding perspective.

The first campaign, launched in 2006 in conjunction with the Carbon Neutral Company, is the Moah Flight Calculator which allows you to offset the carbon emitted by your travel to the mountains, or any other destination. 100% of the funds raised by this campaign go directly to offsetting initiatives approved by the Carbon Neutral Company, such as investing in renewable energy technologies and forestry management. Despite the mixed press relating to carbon offsetting, this is positive step that raises awareness about climate change and personal responsibility. In our minds, making people think and then take action is vitally important.
